A deal is only useful if it works when you get there. Here is what happens to a deal before and after it shows on DealsPlug.
Where deals come from
- The businesses themselves. Restaurant chains' own websites, apps and rewards programs, read several times a day, and deals that businesses submit to us.
- Deal sites and stores. Store sales and price drops from well-known deal sites and stores, read every hour.
- Travel search. Fares from Aviasales and travel deals from travel sites. Fares change fast, so the live price always shows on the booking site.
- Shoppers. Deals people send with "Send a deal". Each one is reviewed before it is published, and it shows as "Found by a DealsPlug shopper".
We read public deal feeds and pages, follow each site's robots.txt, and keep a list of every source we use. When a site's owner asks us to stop, or its rules say no, we switch that source off. We have already switched off sites whose terms don't allow it.
Checks before a deal shows
- It has to be live. Deals come down once their end date passes, and deals that haven't started yet are marked as coming soon.
- It has to be real. A "was" price that is far out of line with the price (a typo in the original post) is ignored, to help keep fake savings off the page.
- It has to be clear. Each deal should say what it is and how to get it: in the app, with a code, in store or online. We add a photo when we have one.
- It has to work where you are. Regional chains and local deals are set to show only in the states where they work.
- It has to be for everyone. We don't list deals on alcohol, tobacco, vaping or cannabis, or anything else for adults only.
- Submitted deals are reviewed. Every deal a business submits is reviewed before it goes live, and approval isn't guaranteed.
Checks every day after
- Every morning we review live deals. When we find a broken link, or a deal that ended, sold out or changed, we fix it or take it down.
- Deals marked "today only" or "last day" are set to end that day. Other deals without an end date come down after a few days unless we see them again.
- Shoppers can say whether a deal worked with "Did it work?". Everyone sees the totals, such as "8 people say it worked this week".
- Each deal page on our website shows the date it was last updated.
What we can't promise
Prices and offers are set by each business and can change at any time, sometimes within minutes. Always check the price and terms on the store's or restaurant's own page before you buy. If a deal didn't work for you, email info@dealsplugapp.com and we'll look at it.
Commissions don't pick deals
Some links earn us a commission. That doesn't decide whether a deal shows or where it shows. See our affiliate disclosure.
